Jay Rodriguez “Latin Louie”
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us at the Louis Armstrong House Museum and Center! Throughout September, we’re hosting a series of concerts and Spanish-language tours, highlighting the rich cultural contributions of the Hispanic community.
As part of this series, we’re thrilled to present Grammy-nominated artist Jay Rodriguez with special guest, Warren Vache, on September 14th at 3 PM in the Louis Armstrong Center Jazz Room. Rodriguez, a renowned saxophonist, flautist, clarinetist, film composer, producer, and arranger, will perform his show, “Latin Louie.”
Jay Rodriguez’s performances are a blend of explosive energy and deep, soulful passion. Known for his versatility and mastery of multiple instruments, Rodriguez has worked with legends like Prince, Elvis Costello, and Celia Cruz. Originally from Colombia, his music seamlessly blends the spontaneity of jazz with the rich traditions of Latin music, creating a sound that is both culturally untethered and profoundly moving.
Don’t miss this special performance, where the unbridled audacity of youth meets the discipline of a seasoned New York jazz veteran.
