(She/Her)
Director of Guest Experience
Adriana Carrillo Silva is a journalist, with a M.A. in Liberal Studies and an emphasis in Biography, Autobiography, and Memoir from The Graduate Center, CUNY. Currently, she is the Director of Guest Experience at the Louis Armstrong House Museum since 2015, where she has curated museum programs and experiences, and hosted hundreds of visits a year.
Her thesis, entitled The Music in His Words: The Art of Sound and Folk in Louis Armstrong’s Manuscript for Satchmo: My Life in New Orleans, “The Armstrong Story”, is a close read of the jazz icon’s autobiography and a reconsideration of the isolated cultural elements that were stripped from the original version that reflect Black orality and music.
