2020 LAHM Fellows Presentations

Virtual Exhibit • June 24, 2020

This is a different, yet special edition of “Hanging With Hyland” as we’re shining the spotlight on our two wonderful LAHM Fellows, Jazz Milligan and Jovan Slaughter. For those who don’t know, we just completed our third year of a fellowship program funded by Robert F. Smith’s Fund II Foundation. Each year, two students are selected to spend ten months splitting their time between working at the Armstrong House and the Armstrong Archives, learning a bit about every aspect of running a non-profit historic house museum and archive.

This year’s fellows were Jazz Milligan and Jovan Slaughter. Covid-19 curtailed their hands-on experience of working onsite but they continued performing research remotely with our digital collections, working on their final research presentations. On June 16, Jazz and Jovan presented their work in a Zoom meeting, after introductions by Adriana Filstrup and Hyland Harris. We’re thrilled to be able to share the video of their presentations below:

Thank you, Jazz and Jovan! It was a pleasure working with and learning from you both and we wish you the best in all of your future endevors!
